About The Speaker
Bernadette Musetti, PhD
Dr. Musetti is an experienced K-12 teacher, having taught public and private schools in the U.S. and Mexico, as well as in higher education where for the first 10 years of her career she worked with international students in intensive English programs and later became a k-12 educator.
She is the former founding Co-Director of the Center for Latino Achievement & Success in Education at the University of Georgia, which provided intensive, high quality, sustained professional learning for educators state-wide and led the implementation of a 9-million dollar Teacher Quality Partnership grant program involving 7 vertically aligned K-12 schools at Kennesaw State University.
She is a long time ESL teacher and teacher educator and her areas of expertise include project-based curriculum design instruction for English Language Learners. Dr. Musetti works closely with in-service professionals with a focus on English Learner achievement and recently in terms of how to do that in context of the Common Core.
She currently serves as an Associate Professor & the Director of Liberal Studies at Loyola Marymount University where she helps to prepare future educators.
