About The Speaker

Thom K Cope graduated with honors from Syracuse University in 1969 with a B.A. and received his Juris Doctor in 1972 from the University of Nebraska College of Law. Since then, he has practiced law in the area of employment discrimination, management relations, and was the Vice President of Human Resources for a large company in Tucson, Arizona for over 4 years.

  • Mr. Cope is a member of Bar in Arizona, Nebraska, California, the U.S. Supreme Court, and various Circuit Courts of Appeals. He has practiced in San Francisco, New York City, Lincoln, Nebraska and Tucson, Arizona.
  • He has lectured extensively to managers and supervisors throughout the United States in the area of equal employment law, management practices and labor relations. Cope has written two books: The Executive Guide to Employment Practice, and How Not to be a Stupid Manager.
  • Mr. Cope has obtained national certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) for six years.
